Sherida Ann Kelly
Sherida Ann Kelly, 68, passed away on October 21, 2018, in Chattanooga.
Sherida was born on Nov. 21, 1949, in Covington, Ky., to Bill and Helen Gregory. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from East Ridge High School with honors in 1968. Sherida was a wonderful cook who loved to entertain friends and family over the years, and will be remembered for hosting memorable parties celebrating many joyous occasions. Everyone knew that her door was always open. She embraced life with optimism and had the unique ability to see the good in everyone. She was an excellent listener who was forgiving and kind. Above all, she was totally devoted to her friends and family.
Sherida loved to travel with her husband, Chip and especially enjoyed many happy times at the
beach with friends and family in Daufuskie Island, SC and Destin, FL.
Sherida’s enduring legacy is as a devoted mother and grandmother. She was loved for her joyful spirit, ceaseless energy and fun personality. She was always actively involved in her children’s, and later her grandchildren’s school, sports and social activities. She delighted in her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. They each adored her and will cherish memories of their beloved “C”.
Sherida is survived by her husband, Van Kelly; son. Hal Wilson III (Denise) of Chattanooga; daughter, Elizabeth Wilson of Maui, HI; brothers Michael Gregory (Terry) of Chattanooga and Keith (Diane) Gregory of Dalton, GA; grandchildren Jack, Kara and Garrett Wilson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Oct. 25, at Grace Works Church at 2 p.m., with visitation of friends and family to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Boehm Birth Defect Center.
