Kathy Poe Rutherford, 56, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, surrounded by friends and family.

Kathy was a 1979 graduate of Tyner High School and was employed for 15 years with the Hamilton County school system. She loved reading, dancing, spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church. Kathy enjoyed participating in her Celebrate Recovery Group at Shelter Church and Lung Rehab at Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Will and Nora Poe, Bill and Margaret Echols; father, William Ed Poe and mother, Jewel E. Poe; brother, William Clay Poe.

Survivors include her husband, Tony Rutherford; son, Zachary Rutherford; stepdaughter, Cassie and granddaughter, Kaylee; sister and caregivers, Susan Roberts and niece, Carla Fish and several nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Mark Gill officiating.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Poe, Tripp Poe, Jackson Poe, Chad Poe, Heath McClure and Norman Mitchell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Debbie Pennington, Lisa Neal, Donna Davis and Karen Reed.

Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, from 4-7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Ok. 73123.
