Region Soccer Semifinals Start Tuesday

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Division I region soccer semifinals kick off on Tuesday in three regions locally. 

In Class A, Signal Mountain will host Huntland and CSAS will travel to Cascade. 

Hixson will travel to East Hamilton in Class AA and McMinn Central will travel to Sequatchie County.   

In Class AAA, McMinn County will host Cookeville and Walker Valley will travel to Soddy-Daisy.  

Winners will play on Thursday in the respective region finals.  

In Division II, Notre Dame and Boyd-Buchanan will be on the road in their first round games on Tuesday.    GPS will host Pope John Paul II on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Region 3-1A Semifinals
6:30 pm: Huntland at Signal Mountain
5:30 pm: CSAS at Cascade

Region 4-2A Semifinals
TBA       : Hixson at East Hamilton
TBA       : McMinn Central at Sequatchie Co.

Region 3-3A Semifinals
7:00 pm: Cookeville at McMinn Co.
7:00 pm: Walker Valley at Soddy Daisy

Division II-A State Tournament First Round

TBA      : Boyd-Buchanan at ECS

Body Of Theresa Parker Finally Found Near Sequoyah Nuclear Plant After Canoe Accident

Crews recovered the body of missing boater, Theresa Parker of Hamilton County, around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Recovery efforts had been underway since Friday, when Ms. Parker and two others capsized a canoe on Chickamauga Lake near Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. There were no life jackets aboard the canoe.
