Retired From Chattanooga Glass And DuPont After Many Years

Eva “Johnnie” Day, 87, passed away on October 7, 2019.

Johnnie retired from Chattanooga Glass and Dupont after many years. In the 1950s, she played on a softball team, making all-state.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Sally Day; sisters, Lorene McKinney and Lola Day, and a brother, Harry Day, Jr.

Johnnie is survived by her sister, Virginia Holland, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m. – noon at Turner Funeral Home, Highway 58 Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery following the visitation at 12:30 p.m. with Lynn Jarrett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
