The Chattanooga women’s track team opened the indoor season Friday night at the Sewanee Early Season Invitational with four top place finishes.
Makenzie Jones took first in the women’s 3000 meter with a time of 10:25.96 and was followed by freshman Lesley Green in her first collegiate indoor race. She was second with a time of 10:46.16.
Jada Hale too first in her first Mile Run with a time of 5:49.69 and posted a time of 2:44.82 in the 800 meter run. Sophia Neglia was second in the 800m with a time of 2:33.70.
Newcomer Madelyn Thompson won the women’s 55m Hurdles with a time of 8.62 and the Mocs relay team of Hannah Caldwell, Neglia, Emily Poole and Green won the 4x400 meter with a time of 4:16.40.
The Chattanooga B team was third with a time of 4:42.23.
This was the Mocs’ first race of the season as many took exams Friday before heading west for the nearby meet.
