Mazie Marie Massengale Hodge, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019, after a brief illness.

Born June 23, 1938, Mazie was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, and was a member of the class of 1957 at Red Bank High School. She worked her entire career at Pioneer Bank, serving in several capacities for 37 years, before her retirement.

Mazie was preceded in death by her husband, Gary "Buddy" Hodge, her mother Mae Massengale, and brothers Frank Massengale and W.D. Massengale.

She is survived by nephew Frank Massengale, niece Kim Massengale Schenk, great nephews Christopher Massengale, Chandler Massengale, Austin Massengale, great-great nephew Bryant Massengale, sister-in-law Dionne Massengale, and goddaughter Andrea Watts McCalister.  Friends who were closer than a sister include Kathleen Penney, Sue Thomason, Chelsa McKnelly.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, in the funeral home chapel with the Honorable Clarence Shattuck Officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.  Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
