Maxine “Sue” Woody, 88, of Red Bank, went to be with the Lord peacefully on June 11, 2019. 

She was a member of Alpine Baptist Church for 55 years as well as a member of the Eastern Star. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Herbert Woody; grandson, Allen Woody; and son-in-law, Donny Chambers. 

She is survived by daughter, Robin Chambers and son, David (Redena) Woody; grandchildren; Alex Chambers and Angela Hicks, great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Joseph (Hayley) and Caitlyn Hicks, sister, Sylvia “Tot” Hartbarger, beloved dog, Molly, special family friends, Rhonda Edwards and Brianna Whitlock, as well as lots of nieces, nephews and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in Chattanooga Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alpine Baptist Church. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the employees of Life Care of Red Bank and Dr. Ozborn for their tender loving care.

Hamilton County Has Record 71 In Hospital With Coronavirus; Tennessee Has 25 More Deaths

The number of coronavirus patients in Chattanooga hospitals has risen to the highest level yet - 71. That includes 37 from Hamilton County. The previous high was 65 on June 10. UTC Commencement Ceremonies Are Canceled

UTC officials have canceled commencement ceremonies that had been postponed to August, due to COVID. Officials said, "Back in March when COVID-19 first made its way to Chattanooga, a conclusion was reached to postpone commencement ceremonies until August.
