Hunter Burchard has been charged with aggravated burglary after he allegedly broke into a house on 7005 Sterling Road and took some marijuana.

In the incident on May 30, police say two males were seen breaking into James Sparks’ house.

Surveillance footage showed both suspects wearing masks, with one of them wearing only half of a mask with the top half of his face exposed.

After police arrived the next morning, Sparks told them that he suspected his neighbors were behind the break-in.

After pulling up a mug shot of Hunter Burchard, the police officer noticed Burchard’s picture matched the exposed half of the face in the video.

When questioned by police, the 20-year-old Burchard admitted to breaking into and stealing a small amount of marijuana from Sparks’ residence.

Burchard said Sparks confronted Burchard after the incident, and took the marijuana back from him.

Burchard did not name his accomplice seen in the video.

Sparks initially told police that nothing had been stolen from his house. After police told him about Burchard’s admission of stealing marijuana, Sparks stated that Burchard may have “hypothetically” stolen that item.

Sparks expressed a desire to prosecute Burchard for breaking into his house.
