John Harvey Allison, age 66, of Dalton, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Riley Sr. and Minnie Allison; and two brothers, James Riley Allison, Jr. and Albert Hibbert.
He was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Lynn Allison, of Dalton; three sisters, Katherine Smith, Mildred King and Brenda Allison; three nieces, Linda Ealy, Pamela Kirkpatrick and Darlene (Harold) Taylor; and several other nieces and nephews, all of Nashville, Tn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m. at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with Rev. Tac Coley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 3 p.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church music fund, youth or children’s ministry.
