City Reaches Voluntary Brownfield Agreement With TDEC For Old Lupton Mill Site; Will Be Green Space

  • Friday, September 27, 2019

Officials said the city has reached a voluntary brownfield agreement with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation for the old Lupton Mill site.

The site is to be cleaned up and retained as a green space, according to the agreement.

The document outlines a number of environmental problems found at the site, which was partially torn down by a private firm earlier.

Officials said that keeping the site as green space would not require remediating all of the environmental problems.
