Overton Wins $10,053 Georgian's Battle At Tricounty North Carolina Thursday

Brandon Overton of Evans, Gs. won the battle of Georgian's Thursday night at the Tricounty Racetrack in North Carolina. The tight 1/4 mile high banked race track hosted the rescheduled TARHEEL 50 race, boasting a $10,053 payday to the winner.

Overton, ranked as one of the top 3 best dirt late model racers in America in 2020, snuck past fellow Georgian Shane Clanton with just five laps remaining to take the victory. Chickamauga's Dale McDowell was third, Canadian Ricky Weiss was 4th and Dawsonville's Donald McIntosh was 5th overall.

Robert Elkins of Murphy won the Thunder series 602 Sportsman feature worth $1,200 for local racers.

Coming up Saturday in Alabama at the Fort Payne Motor Speedway is the WITCHY 50 event for UCRA 604/Crate and Super Late Models.
