James Charles Roach, 81, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his home with his family by his side. 

Mr. Roach was a native of Rosalie, Al., was raised in Henagar, Al., and lived most of his life in North Georgia.  He retired in the early 2000s from Standard Coosa Thatcher as a quality control manager with 37 years of service. Mr. Roach was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church in Rossville for over 50 years having served as a Deacon and was the Adult Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a United States Army veteran during the 1960s receiving his Sharpshooter Badge. Mr. Roach loved the Lord, spending time with his family, enjoying the outdoors, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Leonard and Eva Mae Roach.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Bennie Mae Roach; son, Jim (Vickie) Roach of Flintstone, GA; daughter, Julie (Joe) Sneed of Soddy Daisy; grandchildren, Jarrod Roach, Samuel Sneed, Juliana Sneed and Simon Sneed; sister, Peggy Creswell of Henagar, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Due to the current health pandemic the family requests that all social distancing protocols be followed.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church 110 Talley Ave., Rossville, Ga. 30741 with Pastor Ricky Gravely and Pastor Joe Sneed officiating.  Mr. Roach will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 10:30 a.m.  Bob Donaghy, Jim Greeson, Samuel Sneed, Bill Mathis, Rex Creswell, and David Cape will be serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, Ga.
