Georgia Has 17 More COVID Deaths And A Record 8,769 New Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Friday there have been 17 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The current total is 9,889.

There was a record 8,769 new cases, as that total reached 575,395 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 42,362, up 278 from Thursday. 

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 3,303 cases, up 58; 37 deaths; 160 hospitalizations, up 3

Chattooga County: 1,571 cases, up 14; 44 deaths; 105 hospitalizations

Dade County: 723 cases, up 6; 7 deaths; 38 hospitalizations

Walker County: 3,852 cases, up 56; 55 deaths; 173 hospitalizations, up 2

Whitfield County: 10,952 cases, up 121; 121 deaths; 528 hospitalizations, up 4
