Carl Saddler
Carl Cedric Saddler passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at CHI Memorial Hospital.
Carl was born on Saturday, April 21, 1951, in Chattanooga, to Thelma Ross Partridge and Worley Saddler Jr.
He was a faithful member of the Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. He was educatedin the former Chattanooga Public School System and graduated as a member of the Riverside High School Class of 1970. He enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Carl was employedby TVA in Public Safety and was anofficer with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department until he retired in 2016.
He was an active member of the Elks Lodge, Hyksos 123 Shrine Temple, and Phoenix Lodge #6. Colonel Carl Saddler was also a member of Lookout Mountain Marching Unit # 440 for over forty-five years. He was Sergeant at Arms and Area Commanderfor the Tennessee Brigade. He also enjoyed bowling and dancing.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Ross Partridge and Worley Saddler Jr.; brothers, Edward Saddler and Lebron Partridge; brother-in-law, Ernest (Brenda) Woodruff; nieces, Anita Rochelle Miller-Love-Banks and TashaTodd.
Carl leaves to cherish loving memories, daughters, Tonia Williams and TawannaSaddler; sisters, Sandra (Anthony) Miller, Brenda (Ernest) Woodruff, and Marilyn (Sylvester) Washington; brother, Charles Anthony Partridge; sister-in-law, Alice (Edward) Saddler, all of Chattanooga, TN nieces, Erika (Ernest) Lewis of Murfreesboro, TN, Lakiesha Smith, Adrienne Smith, Erica Glass, and Alexis Woodruff; nephews, Anthony "AJ" Miller, Ernest (Shauna) Woodruff, Steve (Vanessa) Todd, and Trey Johnson; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; dear friend, Gwendolyn Reynolds, all of Chattanooga, TN; otherextended family members and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home.
An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, in the chapel of the funeral home.
Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery, gate time at 12:30 p.m.
