After moving to Chattanooga, Charles married Charlotte McRoy in 1964. He was a loving and devoted husband and father to their three children, along with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Charles retired as a manager from Combustion Engineering Company’s CE unit, known for building nuclear reactors. And then in 1980, Charles accomplished his dream of owning his own business. He opened Red Bank Aluminum Products, where he and Charlotte built a successful business together spanning over three decades.

In 2012, Charles retired from Red Bank Aluminum and spent most of his time enjoying family, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, and selflessly serving the community through the Red Bank Lions Club and Signal Mountain Masonic Lodge. He attended Woodland Heights Baptist Church.
