Held Long Career With Williams And Johnson Transmission

Ferris “Darren” Beene, 63, passed peacefully in his sleep on November 3, 2021, at his home in Rossville, Georgia.

 

He was a lifelong resident of Rossville, having grown up in the Fairview community. Darren was employed as a transmission specialist at Williams and Johnson Transmission for the past 30 years.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Barbara Beene; and brother, Melvin Howard Beene.

 

Darren leaves behind his loving wife, Dr Susan Quinton, five children, Tara (Jeremy) Swilley of Chattanooga, TN, Chanavi (Scott) Houser of Chickamauga, Ga., Adam Tyler Beene (Kristina) of West Allis, WI, Andrea (Travis) Alford of Taylor, TX, Elizabeth Beene of Lafayette, GA, stepson Tripp Shelnutt (Missy) of Floyd, VA, sister-in-law, Dr. Denise Shepard;  grandchildren Laurel Crawley and Raine Shrader, Tyler Beene and River Houser, Makinze Alford and Baylee Alford, Dahlia Beene and Athena Beene, and siblings Denny Beene (Loretta), Derreck Beene, and Melanie (Chip) Owens.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request you make a donation to Fairview Baptist Church, 108 Jenkins Road, Rossville, Ga. 30741 In memory of Bob and Barbara Beene or to the charity of your choice.

 

Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 7, from 1-3 p.m. with a funeral service at 3 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge.  A Celebration of Life will follow at the Groovy Gourmet, 110 Gordon Street, Chickamauga, Ga. 30707.
