Howard Waymon Childers, age 62, of Dalton, Georgia, with his mother, Betty Joyce Childers, departed this life Wednesday evening, February 24, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was born April 18, 1958 in Lafayette, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Terry Childers; and brother-in-law, Lamar Smith.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and Jimmy Rogers of Lafayette, GA, Kathy and Randy Trammell of Tunnel Hill, GA; nieces and nephews, Amy and Robert Hill of Lafayette, GA, Krista Teasley of Chatsworth, GA, Lamar Smith, Jason Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA, David and Ashley Smith of Chatsworth, GA; 11 great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-niece, Hensley Weed.

At his request he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Waymon wanted everybody to know he was finally getting his smoking hot body.

Due to the national health crisis and the COVID-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
