Sara Owens Lowery, 90, of Rocky Face, died on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Houston and Mattie Lee Owens; brothers, J. L. Owens, Paul Owens, Billy Owens; and sisters, Erma Puckett and Opal Puckett.

Mrs. Lowery was a member of First Baptist Church of Dalton.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Edmund Lowery; daughter and sons, Vicki (Rick) Crumpley, Eddie (Jodi) Lowery, and Kenny (Lori) Lowery; grandchildren, Carrie (Scott) Jennings, April (Brian) Ban, Miagan (John) Cobb, Lauren (Jonathan) Blair, Maddie (Joey) Varnell, Ashton Lowery, and Jillian Lowery; and great-grandchildren, Kannon Cobb, Charlie Cobb, Owen Ban, Lucy Ban, Amos Ban, Abigail Blair, Millie Blair, and Hadley Blair. Nieces and nephews also suvive.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home for the compassion and care that they provided to Mrs. Lowery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lowery will be held on Sunday, May 16, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Dalton with Dr. Jonathan Barlow and Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. in the Parlor of First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Dalton Library Fund (P.O. Box 827, Dalton, GA 30722).
