Jean Harding
Jean Elizabeth Harding, 83, of Hixson, woke up in the presence of her precious Savior on May 23, 2021.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1937, in Watertown, NY to the late Hugh and Grace (Beenfield) McCabe. She was married on Nov. 26, 1961, in Carthage, NY to Warren G. Harding, who passed away in 1983.
She was a member of Calvary Bible Church. Jean was manager of Lanham’s Bible Bookshop and owner of His and Her Hair Place.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh “Sonny” McCabe, grandson, Jordan Lemons, step-sons, Vic and Jimmy Harding.
She is survived by her children: Shelia Cannon, Barbi (Scott) Wright, Dana (Julie) Harding; daughter-in-law, Linda Harding; step-son, Van Harding, grandchildren: Matthew Cannon, Jeff (Tara) Cannon, Jacob Lemons,, Hayley (Daniel) Cross, Bailey, Madelyn, Morgan Harding, James (Nicole) Harding, Bryan (Paige) Harding and Rachael (Tommy) Brady; great-grandchildren: Kailey, Krystian, Dakota, Nora, Levi, Cason, Elizabeth, Rowen, Titus and Brylie; brother, John (Liz) McCabe, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at Calvary Bible Church.
A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the church officiated by Reverend Bill Henry.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26,at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Womack and his staff at Tennessee Oncology for their wonderful care and to Hospice of Chattanooga Mountain View Team for the exceptional care of their mom during her final days.
