Charles “Bud” Pressley, 86, of Hixson, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021.

He was born in Rockwood, Tn., grew up in Knoxville and graduated from East High School in Knoxville. Bud served our country in the United States Army. He retired from TVA and was a loyal Tennessee Vols supporter. Bud was a faithful member of Central Baptist Woodmore, followed by Ridgedale Baptist Church where he was a member of both choirs.  Bud coached softball for many years in the Chattanooga area, including national champion and world champion teams.

He was preceded in death by a son, Greg Pressley; grandson, Noah Pressley and a brother, Earl Pressley. 

Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Elva Lee Pressley; children, Vickie (Gary) Meredith, Mark (Lisa) Pressley and Susan Pressley; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Tallent; brother, David Pressley; 19 grandchildren, Sean (Maureen) Meredith, Ryne (Mandi) Meredith, Suzanne (Dennis) Clemons, Bryn (Lori) Meredith, Tanya Meredith, Ian (Sommer) Meredith, Val (Lisa) Meredith, Marina (Ike) Jackson, Tevis Meredith, Brock Pressley, Austin(Abby) Pressley, Micah Pressley, Abigail (Ben) Butler, Mary Kathryn Pressley, Blake Meredith, Elijah Krukowski, Megan (Heath) Autry, Derek Usry, and Aimee Usry; 17 great grandchildren, Bryson, and Brady Meredith, Presleigh Meredith, Alexa, and Laney Clemons, Harper, and Greyson Meredith, Dylan, Erik, Trever, and Trenten Meredith, Valen, and Beau Meredith, Lily Jackson, Kennedy Meredith, Emory and Esther Autry.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, June 4, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Bud’s life will follow at 3 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel with Pastor Doug Plumlee officiating.  Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
