Three From Chattanooga Honored On TSWA All-State Cross Country Teams

McCallie's Simpson, Baylor's Greene And Signal Mountain's Richards Tapped

The Tennessee Sports Writers Association has announced its 2021 All-State Cross Country team. The list contains three Chattanooga runners, in Division II-AA, Evan Simpson of McCallie, was the lone selection in the boys division, while Baylor’s Addi Greene and Signal Mountain’s Maxine Richards were honored in the girls division.

Simpson, a sophomore, ran to a fourth place finish at last year’s state meet with a time of 15:59.98. His finish helped McCallie to a repeat of the state title.

Greene finished second at the state meet, completing the course in 18:34.60.

Baylor finished fourth in the team completion in Division II-AA. An eighth grader, Richards, helped the Lady Eagles to a second place finish at state with a time of 19:19.62.
