Lewis Jones
Lewis Westley Jones, Sr., 82, was born on December 4, 1939, and passed away on December 30, 2021.
He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the City of Chattanooga, after 30 years of service, with the Public Works Department. He enjoyed helping others with home improvement projects. He had a great sense of humor and loved the world of sports, especially tennis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Joyce Womble Jones; mother and father, Mary Beatrice Stakley Jones and Johnnie C. Jones; brothers, Johnnie, Clifford, Walter, Edward, and William Jones.
Cherishing his memory are his children, Christine Jones-Emry, of Chattanooga, Lewis (Kim) Westley Jones, Jr., of Chattanooga, Angela Jones-Terrell, of Decatur, Ga., and Cathy (James) Jones – Swedenburg, of Fort Myers, Fl.; grandchildren, Anita Jones, Erica (Calvin) Ross, and Latoya Emry, all of Chattanooga, Jerome Terrell, of Douglasville, Ga., Joel Terrell, of Decatur, Ga., Chasity (David) Crocker, of San Clemente, Ca., Lewis (Justine) Westley Jones III, of San Diego, Ca. (U.S. Navy), Ashley McNeill, of Fayetteville, N.C., Alexis McNeill of Clarksville, Tn. (U.S. Army), and Alexander McNeill, of Fort Myers, Fl.; 18 great grandchildren; special friend, Terra Dave; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held from 2–6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave.
