Nancy Lee McCormick
Nancy Lee McCormick, was born in Brunswick, Me., on June 11, 1949, to Arvella and Donald Holbrook.
She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1968, where she played trumpet. She played for five years with the Brunswick High Marching Band. In 1968, she met U.S. Sailor John McCormick and in six months they were married. They lived in Memphis, Tn. for six months and moved back to Maine, where their son, Donald Edward McCormick was born. In 1977, they moved to Chattanooga, where they lived for 45 years. This year they moved to Madisonville, Tn. to be closer to family.
Nancy spent 30 years working in medical billing for several medical groups in Chattanooga and was working as a credentialing specialist for the medical group In Good Health, until her failing health prevented her.
Nancy was an active member of the AAPC (American Association of Profession Coders), where she served in several leadership positions including three terms of president.
Nancy is survived by husband, John McCormick, son Edward (Candi) and grandkids, Kaitlynn McCormick, Austin and Kaley Buckner of Madisonville, Tn., and her brother, Jerry (Mary) Holbrook of Brunswick, Me.
Nancy was passed into the hands of God on Oct. 23, after a long battle with cirrhosis of the liver. She will be greatly missed.
