Carol Burkhalter Walters
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Burkhalter Walters, 86, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
Carol was an avid quilter and loved to crochet as well. She spent many hours creating quilts and afghans for her beloved family and friends. She was known for always having a camera in her hand and documenting the memories that she made through scrapbooking and her photo albums. She loved to travel, but the beach was her home away from home.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Burkhalter, her mother, Charlotte Turner; and her siblings, Sue Moore, Emily Miller, and Bobby Burkhalter.
She is survived by her brother, David Burkhalter; her two sons, Gary (Tina) Walters, Larry (Kathy) Walters, and loving daughter Jennifer (Steve) Huskey; grandchildren, Shane Walters, Garret Walters, Allen (Karen) Walters, Charlee (Donovan) O’Neal, Michelle (Jason) Chastain, Jason (B.J.) Swafford and seven great grandchildren.
Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all that loved her. We will cherish the memories of the love and fun we had with her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Debbie Stokes Officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with Jason Swafford, Allen Walters, Bradley Walters, Jason Chastain, Ronnie Moore, and Donovan O’Neal serving as pallbearers.
