U.S. Army Veteran Held Long Career With Graybar Electric Company

Lamarr "LA" Adcock, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday evening, April 17, 2022.

 

He was born in Coalfield, Tn., and moved to Knoxville, Tn., at the age of nine. Lamarr was drafted into the army on August, 1965, and served two years as a military police and 11 months in Vietnam.

 

He worked for Graybar Electric Company for 31 years.

 

After having transferred from Knoxville to Chattanooga, he met and married his wife, Lana,  of 50 years.

 

He was an avid golfer and was a member of Concord Baptist Church for 40 years serving as an usher/greeter and loved welcoming members and visitors every Sunday.

 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lana Maddux Adcock; sister, Mona (Bob) Hopson, Knoxville, TN; daughter, Leslie (Dino) Jobe; three grandchildren, Matthew (Rebecca) Cash, Lindsey (John) Reiman, and Corey Cash; one great-granddaughter, Everly Oaklynn Cash, all of Austin, Texas; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David King officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Fund at Concord Baptist Church, 7025 E. Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
