A rematch with Wallace State is in the NJCAA cards for Chattanooga State softball after they took care of Snead State in the eliminations second round of the national tournament. Chattanooga State went 54-9, and Wallace State accounted for three of those nine losses.

Against Snead State, the Tigers' attack was jump-started by a couple of long balls from their catcher.
Maggie Knight sent pitches over the wall in the second and fourth to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead entering the bottom of the fourth.

After Snead scored on an error to cut the lead in half, the Tigers went on a scoring binge during the sixth and seventh innings. Jade Gainer belted a solo homer in the sixth, and then the Tigers ran up four runs in the seventh.

Camryn Cernuto's double drove in one, Reagan Hartley grounded into another RBI via a fielder's choice, Katlin Leverette sacrifice flew Cernuto home, and then Ashlyn Holland finished the scoring by singling Hartley across the plate.

Speaking of Leverette, she made a play worthy of national highlight shows in the bottom of the sixth inning. Leverette read a ball that jumped off a Snead State bat and charged in from her spot in right field. Leverette dove to the ground and scooped the ball up a few inches off the grass to rob the opponents of a run.

Outside of a Chloe Chisenall home run in the final inning to make the final score 7-3, pitcher Sam Ryan was efficient as she pitched the entire game and won her 22nd contest. She allowed five hits, walked one, and struck out six. Chattanooga State will play Wallace State at 7:00 EST.
