On Thursday, the Beer Board also gave a special events beer permit to Hoptown Beer Bar, 9431 Bradmore Lane. The bar, previously named Heaven and Ale, is in the Cambridge Square development in Ooltewah. Owner Ryan Hargrove said that Cambridge Square schedules live music on the stage in the common area and sometimes also arranges for vendors to be there. During these events, the roads are blocked off and Chattanooga Police Officers are hired to provide security. The bar IDs customers for age and gives wrist bands stamped with their logo.
The beer permit will be in effect every Friday night in May and June 3 from 5 to 10 p.m. and each Saturday in May plus June 4 from noon until 11 p.m. The license will allow customers to take a beer out of the bar to the grassy area.
