Betty Bell, 83, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022, surrounded by her children in a time of love and understanding by all.

She was born in Trion, Ga., on February 7, 1939.  Early in her life, she moved to Chattanooga and worked with her sister, Rose Pierce, at the Club Market Restaurant, among other jobs, before working and retiring from the City of Chattanooga. Betty was a caretaker for everyone in her family and for the ones she allowed to be in her “circle”. Her family was her sense of pride and joy in every sense of her being, and she will be deeply missed by them all.

She is survived by her three children, Ted Richardson, Teresa Elmore and Greg Privette; a brother, David Searles; sister, Jennie Jones, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Gardens East with Charles Rhodes officiating.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Richardson, Todd Richardson, Ryan Lockhart, Alex Elmore, Eric Elmore and Kenny Defriese.
