Trudy Joyce Barnett
Trudy Joyce Barnett, 74, of Hixson, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Trudy was a 1965 graduate of Chattanooga High School.
She retired from the TN Church of God Executive Offices as an administrative assistant after 30 years of service.
Trudy was a faithful and lifetime member of the East Chattanooga Church of God where she was a member of the sanctuary choir and a gifted soloist.
Trudy will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord who fought the good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith. We rejoice knowing that today Trudy is walking with Jesus and has now been reunited with her loved ones that have gone before her.
She is reunited with her husband, Steve Barnett; parents, Loyd and Pauline Tennyson; sister, Glenda Huft; brother, Wayne Tennyson; and her granddaughter, Hailie Hill.
She is survived by her son, Stephen (Julia) Rains, Loudon, Tn.; daughter, Stephanie (Chad) Gibson, Warner Robins, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, Kaila, Craig, Kennedy, Brianna, Christian, Madeline, Reagan, Kristopher, Allison, Aidan, Hannah Grace, Adaleigh, Presley, Aaron, and Anson; five great-grandchildren, Everly, Skilynn, Wrenlee, Liam, and Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don Glenn and Rev. Mike Looney officiating.
Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Stephen Rains, Kristopher Rains, Aidan Rains, Ryan Young, Colonel Chad Gibson, and Taylor Lamunyon serving as pallbearers.
