On January 19, 2023 Roma Harris Honey, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away after a brief hospitalization.

Roma was born in Sweetwater, Tn., to Gordon Spencer Harris and Evelyn Viola Price. She attended Tennessee Wesleyan University where she met and married the love of her life, Joe Philip Honey and together they raised two children, Joe and Cathy.

Roma was known for her easy laugh and quick sense of humor. She was a skillful homemaker, enjoyed playing bridge and devoted herself to her family, including her beloved poodles.

She will always be remembered for her strong will and extraordinary determination when coping with the unique challenges in her life.

Roma was predeceased by her parents and husband of 67 years.

She is survived by her son, Joe Philip Honey, Jr. and wife, Debra, her daughter, Cathy and husband, Jack. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Laura, Joe, Spencer and Kristin, along with five great-grandchildren and three great step-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to everyone who was a part of helping Roma remain in her beloved home.

Due to inclement weather for the family, services in her honor have been rescheduled to Friday, Feb. 10, with visitation at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 3 p.m. 

The family ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Roma’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
