Rosetta Bivins
Born on May 30, 1948, to the late Curtis Halbert and late Minnie Lena McGhee Taylor, Rosetta Bivins departed life in the early hours of October 25, 2023.
She was preceded by her husband, Herman Bivins, Jr.
Mrs. Bivins was a graduate of Riverside High School class of 1967 and later from Miller Motte College. She was a renowned seamstress whose resume included the production of fire-retardant wear for the Chattanooga Fire Department. She was a faithful member of Stephen’s Temple Presbyterian Church until health issues left her unable to attend.
She leaves to cherish memories, her best friend, Everlena Hall along with her children, Aaron (Kia) Atkinson, Jr.; David Bivens; Baaron (Centennial) Bivins; Daaron Bivins; Anita Bivins; Herman Bivins III; Teresa Bivins; Chrisopher Bivins; and Allen Walker.
Grandchildren, Courtney (Bre) Atkinson, Kala (Randolph) Hamilton, Aaron (Stephanie) Atkinson III, Aaliyah Atkinson, Katelyn (Gregory) Washington, Antonio (Mercy) Johnson, Lamarus (Yasmin) Adams, Keyasia Bivins, Antwan Bivins, Kayla Tibbs, and Carlos (Alisha) Tibbs, Jr.
The lady affectionately known as “Mama Rose” also leaves a host of great grands, and other family as well as good friends far too many to name.
A 3 p.m. celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, Tn., 423 622-9995.
