Emma Jean Fugatt McAllister, 97, of East Ridge, Tennessee passed on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank, for many years. Jean and family lived in Red Bank for over 60 years.
Born in Trenton, Dade County, Ga., in 1926, her family made residence there along Lookout Creek and in New England before the Civil War. Jean was employed in the hosiery industry for over six decades. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and children.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Glen Lewis McAllister, her parents, Thomas T. Fugatt and Ola Mae Lea, brothers: Fred Fugatt, Johnny Fugatt and life-long friend Arlene V. Lewis.
Survivors include: Johnny R Sausedo (Barbara) of Franklin, TN; Mark McAllister of East Ridge; and close friend Saundra Ball (Jimmy) of Knoxville and Kim May of Sale Creek; Grandchildren: Keith Sausedo of Franklin, TN; Misty Snyder (Adam) of Maynardville, TN, Dustin Sausedo of S.California; Janel Oxford of Hixson; Cameron McAllister of Ooltewah, TN and Hanna Spear of Cleveland, TN; Great Grandson William Oxford of Hixson and sister Agnes Starnes of Etowah, TN plus several neices and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 2-3 p.m. at Community Fellowship Church, 260 Benton Station Road, Benton, Tn. 37307. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3 p.m. with paster Bruce Underwood conducting. Flowers may be sent to the church or donations in honor to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Cincinnati.
