Rosalie Juanita Farrior, 86, of Ooltewah, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, and is now resting in Jesus.

Rosalie was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Vicksburg, Ms., to Donald and Juanita Jacks. Rosalie was always busy with her hands as she loved to sew, crochet, and cross stitch. Over the years she has worked for local employers – McKee Foods and Olan Mills. After all the kids were out of the house, she enjoyed helping others. She found jobs delivering medications to shut-ins for a pharmacy downtown and delivering flowers for Bates Florist shop. She volunteered for local churches that provided Angel Food and she drove for area agencies helping disabled and elderly get to medical visits. Rosalie was a member of the McDonald Road Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard Farrior (2016), her granddaughter, Mistie Clements (2017) and her son, Richard Donald Farrior (2022).

Rosalie is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Long (Carlos), Frances Johnson (Ron); son Vernon Farrior (Lisa); her grandchildren, Dan Johnson (Natalie), Rebecca Johnson, Tony Farrior, Suni Farrior, Ashley Farrior, Keith Farrior and Tyler Farrior (Hannah) and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend our deep appreciation for the Alexian Brothers PACE family for their care of our mother over the last couple of years. And to the staff of Southern Heritage Assisted Living, we are so grateful for the kindness and care that you provided for mom.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Friday, April 7, at the McDonald Road Seventh Day Adventist Church.
