Pauline Dessie Cox Bartley “Cricket”

Pauline Dessie Cox Bartley “Cricket” was called home on May 24, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Robert Earl and Ida Slaughter Cox.

Granny, to all that knew and loved her was kind, compassionate and had a great sense of humor. Pauline worked outside the home until the early 80’s, when her and her husband John started their own business. She was a caregiver to everyone, especially her grands and great grands. We will all have those memories that we will carry with us.

She loved serving her church and was a faithful servant. She loved to work in her vegetable gardens and canning. She loved to feed anyone who blessed her home. Food could cure anything. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Bartley; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Eddie Davis; son, Anthony Bartley; daughter-in-law, Glenda Bartley; granddaughter, Polly Davis.

She is survived by sons, Robert Bartley and John Bartley Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Allen) Coley, Jill (Randy) Hill, Marsha Rogers, Jamie Driggers, Mark and Clay Bartley, Khristy (Chris) Harden and Heather (Jeremy) Rogers; great-grands, Baleigh, Chandler and Emma Coley, Destin (Joel) Barnett, Kaleb Hill, Colby Davis, Jeb Brown, Chesney and Liam Rogers, Ethan Davis, Trevor Davis, Mallory Eilermann, Jasper Driggers, Hannah O’Neal, Brent and Kyle Henderson and Cameron and Charleigh Harden; Great-greats, Palmer Barnett, Athena Padgett and Maddie O’Neal.

The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, Pam Bowen, Paula Ridley, Amanda Benson and Louise Dutton and the wonderful staff of Amedisys Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home.

The visitation will be on Saturday from 4-7 p.m.
