Cherished Her Time With Her Children And Grandchildren

Cynthia Anne Cromer Thornton, 61, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at a local hospital.

She was a native of Myrtle Beach, SC; grew up in Bossier City, LA, graduating from Parkway High School in 1980. Cynthia also lived several years in Marshall, TX and Tatum, TX where she worked in the Claims Department for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Cynthia had lived the past 12 years in Fort Oglethorpe where she had worked as a receptionist with the Animal Medical Center. She loved her family and she cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. Cynthia enjoyed spending time on the computer where she was known around the world in a virtual gaming app.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlton Cromer; and grandson, Christian Young.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Thornton; two daughters and son-in-law, Lisa and Jerry Young and Patricia Blount; mother, Anne Cromer; sister, Donna Sue Cromer; five grandchildren, Scott Edwards, Kody Sprayberry, Leo Young, Beau Young, and Bailey Young; and one nephew, Cory Holsapple.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
