The Atlanta Braves are on a six-game winning streak....outscoring their opponents 56-24 in that six-game stretch. All that offense is well distributed, with Ronald Acuna Jr. leading in batting average (.325), Matt Olson leading in home runs (20), and Ozzie Albies leading in RBI (52). Veteran outfielder Eddie Rosario hit a pair of homers on Sunday and drove in six runs as the Braves demolished Colorado 14-6 for win number six in a row.
Right now Atlanta has seven players in double figures in homers and we're not even close to the season's midway point.

The 2021 World Champions may have their best team in years on the field in 2023. The 1995 World Championship squad may have had the best pitching staff in recent memory but no Braves' team has been able to put up offensive numbers like this year's group. As of today, the Braves lead the National League East by five games over Miami and the great start has excited fans all over the South. Truist Park is a wonderful place to be if you love the game of baseball, with enough activities available to fill up an entire day of fun.

I first started attending Braves' games when the team first moved to Atlanta from Milwaukee in 1966. I was 15 years old and had already fallen in love with baseball when I went to my first ball game at Fulton County Stadium. I was star struck as I watched Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews play. I'll never forget seeing a big league field for the first time and being amazed at how green the grass was and how big the stadium looked compared to the only other baseball stadium I had been in, which was Old Sulphur Dell in my hometown of Nashville. I still remember eating Chick-Fil-A sandwiches at the ball park before they became a Southern tradition. And, yes, in the early days at Fulton County Stadium, they served ice cream in a miniature Braves' batting helmet.

A trip from Nashville to Atlanta in 1966 was an all day trip. Interstate travel was still a few years away so you would have to travel Highway 41, going through practically every little town in Southeastern Tennessee and North Georgia to get to Atlanta. My favorite stopover was always Chattanooga and, at the time, little did I know that I would someday call the Scenic City my home.

I always loved the New York Yankees and still do, but the Braves have always been a close second. Watching the Braves in Atlanta and on television has been one of my very favorite things to do and, with a great start for this year's squad, this old retired sports guy will have plenty to do this summer.
