A woman drowned after her car went into the Sequatchie River at Whitwell on Monday afternoon, but her 10-year-old grandson was able to swim to safety.
The boy said the grandmother pushed him out of the car as it was filling with water.
The incident happened on Ketner Mill Lane, and the woman's body was found downstream.
