Nathan Hughes, 74, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
He was a son of the late Claude and Mildred McElhaney Hughes. He attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on and driving corvettes and going to the dragstrip.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his child: Gladys Jolley; brothers: Larry and JC Hughes; sister: Dorothy Hughes; grandchild: Danielle Clemmer.
Survivors include his son: Scott (Susan) Hughes, siblings: Wayne (Pam) Hughes, Joann Hughes; grandchildren: Zachary Scott, Maegen Elise, Ryan Nathaniel; other special grandchildren: Summer, Tristen, and Chase; great-grandchildren: Sophia Rose, Adriana; several nieces, nephews, other extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. Curtis Porter officiating.
Family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., prior to the service.
