Lisa Cole
Lisa Ramsay Cole, president and managing shareholder of Lewis Thomason, as well as managing partner of the firm’s Nashville office, has been appointed vice-chair of ALFA International’s managing partner forum. The forum provides an opportunity for managing partners in ALFA’s various law firms around the world to share best practices, ask questions regarding common issues, and for benchmarking.
Cole is a highly experienced and accomplished attorney with a strong focus on civil trial litigation in various areas of law.
She represents national, regional, and local employers, regional and local health care facilities, and insurance companies. She has significant experience working with both large corporations and smaller organizations in a variety of industries. She also serves the firm as General Counsel and is responsible for handling ethical and professional responsibility matters for the firm. She is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors and shareholder compensation committee.
Cole is a Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator and is dedicated to alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and arbitration, which can often provide more efficient and cost-effective solutions for clients.
Among her numerous professional honors, Cole is a Trustee of the American Bar Foundation, a Fellow in the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Foundations, a member of Dean’s Circle, University of Tennessee College of Law, Dean’s Advisory Board Belmont School of Law, and a member of the ALFA International Women’s Initiative Practice Group Steering Committee. She has been named in Best Lawyers® and as a Best Lawyers® Workers’ Compensation Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Nashville for several years. She was featured in Best Lawyers® “Women in the Law” Business Edition. Cole has been named to Mid-South Super Lawyers Top 100 Tennessee Attorneys along with being on the Mid-South Super Lawyers list for multiple years. She’s been named Best of the Bar in Nashville multiple times. She is a Life Fellow in the American Bar Foundation, a Fellow in the Tennessee Bar and Nashville Bar Foundations, and an Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church
