Mary Sue Clark Johnson, 81, finished this life on Earth on October 3, 2024.

Susie was born in Valley Head, Al., on March 30, 1943. She was the daughter of the late William D. “Doc” and Jewell Clark.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Imogene McSpadden, Sarah McDaniel, one brother, J.B. Clark.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerry Johnson, and her children, Rev. Kimberly Johnson Dunn (Rob) and Dale Johnson (Diane), one granddaughter, Rev. Mary Grace Ellis; brothers, Eugene Clark (Pat), Carl Clark, and Larry Clark, several nieces and nephews.

Susie spent most of her life in the Chattanooga area as a homemaker, loving wife and mother. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church Harrison, where she served in several capacities over the years. She loved family, friends and spread the light of Christ to everyone she met.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2-6 p.m. in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Services will be on Monday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kim Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Old McDonald Cemetery.
