Diana Wright Benson
Diana Wright Benson, 78, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at her home after a brief illness with leukemia.
A longtime resident of Buena Vista, Ga., Diana has made Ringgold her home for the past 13 years.
She along with her late husband were owners and operators of Benson’s Store in Buena Vista and she was a member of Buena Vista United Methodist Church.
Diana has been employed with Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel as an Ambassador for the past 13 years where you would be greeted by her warm smile at the door when you came to visit the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roland Benson; parents, Bill and Liz Wright; brother, Randy Wright; nephew, Michael Medders; great-niece and nephew, Paul McAfee and Joanna McAfee.
She is survived by her brother, Alan (Sabina) Wright, Collegedale; sister-in-law, JoAnne Rogers, Buena Vista, GA; brothers-in-law, Brown (Pat) Benson, Columbus, GA and Sims (Burgin) Benson, Buena Vista, GA; nieces & nephews, Neil (Shannon) Wright and Shawn Wright, all of Ringgold, Misty (Jeff) McAfee, Trinity, FL, Leigh Medders, Buena Vista, GA, Tom (Gyner) Rogers, Peachtree City, GA, Sims (Heather) Benson, Jr., Columbus, GA, Blanchard Benson, Cumming, GA, Helen Benson (Clint) Strange, Macon, GA, Beth Benson (Jesse) Callaway, Cumming, GA, Ellen Benson (Andy) Stewart, Gainesville, GA, Claire Benson (Jason) Ouimet, Springfield, VR great-nieces & nephews, William, Matthew, Mason, and her pride and joys; Peyton & Preston, Trip Medders, Emmy Meders, Bense Medders, Francie Rogers, Gi Rogers, Ryn Rogers, Sims Benson III, Rollins Benson, Harrison Strange, Hannah Strange, Hartley Strange, Hunter Strange, Harper Strange, London Callaway, Cash Callaway, Elizabeth Stewart, Emily Stewart, Grace Ouimet, and Kate Ouimet.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m. at the Buena Vista Cemetery in Buena Vista, Ga. with Curtis Ottinger officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. Saturday at Way Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, Ga.
