The Opposite Candidates In District 27 - And Response (2)

  • Saturday, November 2, 2024

State House Race 27 has two candidates who could not be more opposite.

Michele Reneau, a conservative and Kathy Lennon, a liberal. I have spoken with Michele at length and know she opposes issues like males playing in female sports (and in their locker rooms), boys using girl’s restrooms, DEI and inappropriate books in our school libraries.

I have served on the school board with Kathy Lennon. While Kathy is nice, she is ultra liberal. She never saw a government program, new position in the central office or a diversity issue she did not support. Even though Kathy was not on the board when we discussed some of above mentioned issues, I can almost guarantee how she would have voted.

I certainly hope someone has asked her where she stands on these issues. State representatives make the laws concerning these things that affect school systems across the state. If these issues are important to you, vote Michele Reneau District 27.

I agree with Rhonda Thurman, Ms. Lennon is nice, however, her politics are way far to the left.

Ms. Reneau is the candidate to vote for. Ms. Reneau will help bring about things that will improve our schools and keep the children and teachers safe.

Vote for Michele Reneau.

Rhonda states she knows Michelle Reneau opposes males on female sports teams as well as certain books in school libraries. Then Rhonda provides a made up list of issues that she "thinks" Kathy Lennon would have supported if they had been discussed or voted on while Rhonda and Kathy were on the school board together.

Give me a break. Sounds like Rhonda is weighing the merits of electing Michelle or re-electing Kathy to the school board.

The D27 race is so much more than a school board race but I admit the issue of universal school vouchers is important to this voter. We don't have to make up Kathy Lennon's position - she has made it perfectly clear she opposes using public money intended for public schools to enhance the bottom line of private schools.

Sure wish Rhonda would share Michelle Reneau's stand on universal vouchers because she has nothing on the record.
