Travis Shears has been promoted to tax partner at Market Street Partners, a Smith + Howard company. Mr. Shears’ new appointment comes less than a year after he originally joined the team as tax director, and is one of five partner promotions taking place across Smith + Howard’s national footprint.

“Ever since Travis joined our team, he has delivered strong results for our clients while also serving as a wonderful example of Smith + Howard’s high standards and the personification of the Market Street Partners culture,” said Kyle Bryant, co-founding partner at MSP. “When we joined forces with Smith + Howard in 2023, one of our chief aims was to hire some of the best talent in the area to manage our growing client roster, and Travis has exceeded our expectations since day one. I know he’ll thrive in this new position.”

Mr. Shears joined MSP with a lengthy track record in the logistics space and has focused his energies since coming to MSP on tax compliance and financial advisory projects primarily in the logistics and manufacturing spaces.

“Our newest partners, including Travis, have consistently demonstrated their commitment to Smith + Howard’s values and long-term success,” said Sean Taylor, managing partner of Smith + Howard. “They are trusted advisors to our clients and mentors to our team members, embodying the high standards of service and integrity that our firm is known for. We are proud to welcome them as partners and excited for the contributions they will continue to make.”
