Retired From DuPont After 40 Years Of Service

Allen Bryant Cofer, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Dupont with more than 40 years of service. Mr. Cofer was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for 67 years where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School. He also sang with the Lupton Aires Trio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Raymond and Effie Lena Cofer.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Jo Cofer; sons, Ronnie Cofer (Brenda) and Gerald Cofer (Karen); grandchildren, Dr. Reece Cofer (Mary Catherine) and Heith Cofer (Karen); great-grandchildren: Talley Cofer, Worth Cofer, Reed Cofer and Ford Cofer; and brothers, Douglas Cofer (Sandra) and Bozy Cofer.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Lupton Drive Baptist Church with Reverend Roger DeHart officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bryant’s memory to the Lupton Drive Church Choir Foundation.
