Is the city of Chattanooga mayor gonna run unopposed? We have had 12 years of progressive liberal leadership. Most of the city council is mind numbing as well.
Do we have an up and coming conservative to to step up? Of course it doesn't matter if people don't care enough to show up and vote.
Folks it matters, let's hope we have a better choice in 2025.

At least someone is on the right track, even if partially. However, words can be vague. Words like "progressive", "liberal" and "conservative" have more meaning than folks are aware of. While not originally from the Chattanooga area (or Tennessee for that matter), my opinion on this may not appeal to folks with their heads in the sand.
As such, as it stands, this is what I see and notice in Chattanooga: rising homelessness, drug addiction, the embracement of pagan culture, public transportation that is insulting (people are forced to go into debt in order to obtain a vehicle, simply to get around and/or even have a job to survive), a cost of living that makes even common sense cringe, wages that are from the early 2000's (courtesy of the plethora of fast-food/corporate conglomerate/service industry establishments representing the corporate government), some of the most ignorant and disrespectful school kids I have ever seen (I spent 11 years abroad as a teacher and I know what I am talking about), trash and litter left in parks, rampant crime and gangs, typical characters that feel the need to make sure everyone around them can hear the noises that somehow qualify as music coming out of their cars, illegal aliens running everywhere unopposed, blue-state refugees that continue to bring their blue-state values with them...what happened to the values and character that once projected the beloved Dixieland (God, family, country, state civic duty, masculinity and respect)?
If Governor Lee won't do anything about this state, why should anyone expect a "conservative" mayor to make a difference? That is comparable to freed slaves that continue to vote for their former masters to rule over them... hint, hint.
Perhaps, if public schools had been doing their job for the last 40 years, folks would know how to appropriate the meanings of "progressive", "liberal" and "conservative." Then again, if media outlets would report the truth rather than boomer-ish green-bean salad narratives, folks may see an opportunity to get their heads out of the sand.
In a Constitutional Republic, the people have (or had) all the power they need. But, those days seem to be over.
