Claude Edward Peterson
Claude Edward Peterson, 95, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1929 in Ringgold, Georgia to the late Jesse James Peterson and Florence Plott Peterson.
He became known as The Icee Man in the Hixson area frequently serving cool treats from his red Ford Ranger.
Claude was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Edith Marie Cline Peterson: brothers, J.L., Harlan, Tom Peterson Jr, and sisters, Louise Blevins and Jamie Brown.
Survivors include his children, Larry (Jean) Peterson, Kathy (Jerry) Oliver, Mike Peterson, Monty Peterson, Richard Peterson, and Tina (Brian) Giles; nineteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and twenty six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 1, from 4–8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home in Chattanooga. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. A chapel service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Phil Shellabarger officiating.
Claude will be laid to rest beside his wife, Edith, in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
