An annual holiday event was held on Dec. 20 for veterans at the Chattanooga Veterans Outpatient Clinic.
The holiday luncheon was provided by Prudhomme Fort Chapter Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century, Alexander Keith Chapter DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), Patriots of Liberty Society C.A.R. (Children of the American Revolution) and the John Sevier Chapter, SAR (Sons of the American Revolution).
Approximately 200 veterans were served lunch.
Members of the Prudhomme Fort Chapter CDXVIIC were co-hostesses in assisting with the Christmas luncheon, and distributing to Veterans original embroidered stars from discarded U.S.
Flags, with the message: “I am a STAR from a tattered, faded and worn flag that was ready to be retired. Because of YOU, I was able to fly over the land of the free. Now I am a treasure given to you by a grateful citizen who honors your service and your sacrifice.”
The chapters hosting the luncheon are lineal descendants of an ancestor that qualifies them to become a member with proof of lineage.
