Devoted Great Grandmother With A Talent For Cooking

Joyce Evelena Bolton, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at her home in Trenton, Ga., surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service to honor Joyce’s life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. ET in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Reggie Byrum and Tommy Bearden officiating. Following the service, Joyce will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant, Al.

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon until the service hour.

Born on October 24, 1941, to the late Winfred and Verna Laney Hartline, Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who held her family close to her heart. She spent many years working at Shaw Industries before retiring. Joyce was a treasured member of Bryant Church of God and was known as a prayer warrior. She also had a talent for cooking and loved to feed those around her.

Joyce is survived by her children, Kathy (Steve) Johnson, Angie (Chad Hill) Workman, and Ronnie (Rochelle) Bolton; sisters Nadine Michaels, June Rake, Sherry Bethune, Wende Atkins; grandchildren Chris Workman, Sky Bolton, Brett (Jessie) Bolton, Stormy (Dane) Robinson, and Tiffany Gladden; as well as 7 great-grandchildren; several extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Duvol Dean Bolton; Joyce was preceded in death by her son Scott Bolton; son-in-law Kent Carrell; sister Gertha Bolton; and grandchildren Amy & Gregory Carrell.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during Joyce's final days.

In honoring Joyce's memory and celebrating her life well-lived with love and devotion for her family and faith community. May she be remembered for the warmth she shared and the love she gave.
