Mocs Beach Volleyball Finishes Jacksonville Invitational 1-3

  • Sunday, February 25, 2024
Chattanooga beach volleyball wrapped up its first tournament of the 2024 season on Sunday, finishing with a 1-3 record at the Jacksonville Invitational.

The Mocs saw a pair of difficult matchups to round out their time in Florida, first taking on No. 13 ranked Florida International followed by the tournament hosts, Jacksonville University. UTC fell 4-1 to the Panthers to open the day, before dropping a 3-2 contest against the Dolphins.

“This is what we came here for,” Coach Darin Van Horn said.
“To compete against strong opponents and to get pushed outside our comfort zones. A lot to be learned as individuals, as pairs and as a team.”

Full, detailed results from Sunday’s matches against FIU and JU are currently unavailable. Finalized box scores for each match will be added to the Chattanooga beach volleyball schedule page on GoMocs.com when they become available.

Now 1-3, the Mocs will travel to Columbia, South Carolina, next weekend to take part in the Wheeler Beach Bash, hosted by South Carolina and set to run March 2-3. There, Chattanooga will face off against South Carolina, Charleston, Coastal Carolina and UNC Wilmington.
