High school basketball is fast approaching the end of the season, but post-season awards were presented in District 5-A recently and Sale Creek swept both for Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors.

It was a family affair for both the boys and girls as Sale Creek's Mark Holland was named the girls Coach of the Year while his daughter Caroline joined Copper Basin's Alexis Hyatt as the co-Player of the Year.  It was much the same among the guys as Jackson Moore was named Player of the Year while his father Daniel was named Coach of the Year.

Other players honored among the girls include Zoe Green, Kloie Ballew an Kendra Deal of Copper Basin, Madi Ellis, Gracie Arnold and Trinity Smith of Sale Creek, DaMyla Jones and Kelsey Ford of Lookout Valley, Tori Williams of CSLA and Alexis Pendergrass of CGLA.

Among the selections for the guys are Eli Gaines, Derek Roberson, Cadance Collins and Ta'Saude Williams of Chattanooga Prep, Dallas Billingsley and Bennett Wilson of Sale Creek, Mark Hetrick and Asher Northrup of CSLA, Justin Hamby and Avery Crowder of Copper Basin and Lookout Valley's Dayton Cooper.
